The Joys of Christmas

We have many reasons to be rejoicing this year. First and foremost we are healthy and happy! We are grateful to be living in a free country were we have the right to practice the religion of our choice. We have a home and food on our table, which we consider a blessing. Jon has a job that he enjoys and provides for our family, which is also a wonderful blessing.
And we have three beautiful children. All of the kids were very excited to receive gifts this year.
We hope with time and increase of years they will learn the joy of giving!
Their joy was our gift this year.
It is so fun to see the joy and excitement of children opening a present.
Thank you to everyone who sent gifts. We are really enjoying everything we received.
We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas
and had the pleasure and joy of your families being near.
We also had the pleasure of having Cami and Chris Katona and his sister Julie over for Christmas dinner. It was a joy to have them. We had a great time visiting and eating lots and lots of food.
Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday Olivia!

Olivia is 5
I know this is a 4 days late, sorry Olivia.
Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday dear Olivia,
Happy Birthday to YOU!
I can hardly believe it has been 5 years. It seems like yesterday that we saw your beautiful face for the first time. Olivia could not wait to turn 5 just like she couldn't wait to begin her life. Olivia is such an outgoing and friendly girl. She loves to play and be silly. She loves to learn and can not wait to start school next year.
Olivia enjoys creating music, singing and dancing. She likes to sleep outside!
She likes to get her fingernails painted...
her face painted and...
have her hair done, but does not enjoy getting it done!! She is very crafty and wants to craft every chance she gets!
She loves the fall leaves.
(These were saved just for her, by Noni and Poppy in Utah) She can't wait to go to the ocean again!!
Once when Olivia was asked what type of things she likes to take to bed she replied, "BOOKS". And she does. Every night she has stacks and stacks of books on her bed!
Her first crush, Uncle D! She loves to swim and...
play in the water! She loves pretty flowers and...is always helping plant them!!
She is....
SUPER...SUPER...
SILLY!!!She loves her Noni and calls her nearly everyday.
I think it was the first number she learned to dial. She likes to swing!
She likes to be on top of things!
And climbs EVERY tree she can! She loves "Milkshakes."
Her best friend, Kate.
And her baby brother Jack. Whom she loves to help contain!!
She is so helpful with Jack. Just recently she decided she can change his diaper, even if it is poopy, but quickly realized she needed a little help!!
She loves to help her Daddy and spend time with him.
Olivia loves to paint and would do it everyday if I would say 'Yes'.
Olivia has a gorgeous smile and is such a light in my life. She is a spiritual giant and teaches me new things each day. She is so willing to help and always wants to please. Olivia I love you so much and am so blessed to be a part of your life.
Happy 5th Birthday!

Face Paint Anyone? Anyone?

My friend Stephanie and her cute kids came over the other night and the kids were singing Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Olivia ran to the other room and came back with a red nose. And this is what it evolved into.
Elyse, Olivia and Kate (just in case you can't tell)
The boys were lucky and didn't get involved!!

Just a little word of wisdom-washable markers are not always washed away with the first wash. It might take 3-4 or 5 washes for it to come off!!

Thanksgiving Trip to Utah

For Thanksgiving we headed to Utah. We got up at the crack of dawn and we were on the road by 6 am. We hoped the kids would go back to sleep but that didn't happen, at least for awhile.

When we stopped in Beaver Olivia insisted we take a picture of them in this huge rocking chair even though it was like 38 degrees outside. Too funny!
The kids did great in the car and were so excited to finally be there! The next morning Poppy treated us to a yummy breakfast at a little Ma and Pa place in Bountiful. It was really tasty. Kate got to sit next to Poppy and she was talking his ear off. She sure loves her Poppy.Olivia got to sit next to Uncle Derek and she was hammin' it up!Noni and Poppy saved the leaves so the kids could play since we really don't have too many leaves were we live. They were ecstatic to play in the leaves. For the girls Birthday celebration day they chose to go the park and watch movies with Noni. They really had a good time at the park playing chase!

Afterwards they helped bake a cake and then decorate it! They really love the new dolls they got. Thank You Noni and Poppy. We also got our hair cut while in Utah, which we were long over due for. I have only had my hair cut one time since we were in Utah in Aug. 2007. I was so excited to finally get my day at the salon. My sister Stacy is so cute and is always so generous when it comes to cutting our hair. She blocked out her whole day so we could enjoy the day. Before our haircuts all the sisters and mom met up for lunch and sadly I didn't take any pictures. But we had a great time visiting.

Katie getting her curls put in. She loves to have her hair curled.
Jackson gets a new do! Nana and Papa also wanted to celebrate the girls Birthday's with them and decided it would be fun to go to Chuckie Cheese. All the cousins came and they had a fantastic time. I remember when I turned 4 years old I had my party at Chuckie Cheese and loved it. There was this huge ball pit that I thought was the greatest, sadly they don't have that anymore.

Thank you Mom and Dad for the great Birthday party. The absolutely loved it!!Olivia riding the Imaginarium Bike. Katie loved to ride this horse. When you dug your heels in it went faster. Maybe it was coincidental, who knows! We had Thanksgiving with Jon's family. And it was tasty. Again I forgot to take pictures. But Jon did get a few of the kids doing a fun little sock snowman craft. By this time Katie had had enough fun and was conked out. There were 19 adults and 13 kids (all under the age of 7) and it was suprisingly not to crazy!
This is the bed that I slept in, it was so comfortable. It is a King size bed that you just melt in to. Jon slept in the other room, because Jack didn't sleep real well while we were there. But I think he was waking up to sleep in the comfy bed. What do you think???
